The Gramvousa peninsula seen across the Bay of Kissamos from the Rodopou peninsula. If you open the larger picture you can clearly see the road that thousands drive in summer to go visit Balos. The road finishes at about the middle of this photo.
The peninsula extends quite some way towards the North (a little under two hours to walk to) at the Vouxas Channel, with the island of Agria Gramvousa (visible in the right of the photo above) across the narrow channel.
The higher part of the ridge of the peninsula is at an altitude of around 700m (highest point at 735m)
