Platanias river

I was complaining a few days ago about the Platanias river running along the beach instead of into the sea. It seems that the local authorities finally decided that they ought to do something about it before the tourist season was entirely over and dug a channel for the river to come straight out into the sea, "liberating" about 200 or 300 m of beach.
