Back in Crete after spending some time in the Pindos mountains, northern Greece. One of the famous attractions there is the gorge of Vikos. This panorama is taken from just below the settlement of Vikos.
The Vikos gorge is listed by the Guinness Book of Records as the deepest gorge in the world in proportion to its width but I am sort of doubting it. It's a wonderful gorge though, almost as spectacular as Samaria and far less crowded (there were only around a dozen people in it on the day I walked through it).
