A bee high up in the mountains

This is an out of season photo. It was taken in July and I came across it whilst working on something else and thought I'd put it here for a change (of seasons).
This bee is actively gathering pollen in flowers of Acantholimon androsaceum at around 2400m. The beehives are probably almost 2000m lower down near Anopolis but because there are very few flowers blooming in Crete at low altitude in July these bees might fly - make a beeline as it is - all the way up to the highest summits to find pollen. Definitely hard workers.
