Euphorbia peplis

Euphorbia peplis, the purple spurge, is a species of Euphorbia, native to southern and western Europe, northern Africa, and southwestern Asia, where it typically grows on coastal sand and shingle. At first sign it seems quite insignificant but looking more closely it's very beautiful. Quite common on my local beaches but you have to pay attention to see it (despite the fact that it can form large mats).
