Close-up of flowering Diktamos

A close-up of one of Crete's most famous plants: Cretan Dittany, Origanum dictamnus, locally called Diktamos or Erontas has been famous since antiquity for its healing properties. It is an endemic of Crete and grows in cliffs at altitudes ranging from sea level to the mountains. It also grows quite well (in a pot) on my verandah which is where this photo was taken.
