A large snowfield on the way to Pachnes

Although a lot of the winter snow has now melted many sinkholes still contain substantial amounts of snow. The snowfield in this image rises about 150m up the slope and the depth of snow at the bottom in the depression is well over 10m. The snow is packed hard so that's not dangerous at all.
The pinky brown colour of the snow is due to several rainfalls containing Saharan sand that occured in the last few weeks.
