  • The cathedral of Chania is located in the centre of the old town, just off Halidon Street on the way down to the harbour. The cathedral is dedicated to the Panagia Trimartyri (Virgin of the Three Martyrs), the patron saint of Chania. You cannot see it in this photo as I have my back to it. The statue in the left of the photo is of Ecumenical Patriarch Athenagoras who was the 268th Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople from 1948 to 1972.
