Bellevalia brevipedicellata is an endemic species restricted to the south-west corner of Crete and Gavdos island. It flowers from January to March in rock crevices, phrygana and rocky hillsides at or near sea level. The leaves are up to 20cm long and the flower resembles Muscari.
It is listed in the Greek Red Data Book as vulnerable.
