Kissamos may be the 'capital' of the region of Kissamos but it is a small provincial town. There isn't much to see but the town has kept its Cretan character, has good amenities , a nice sea front promenade with tavernas and cafés and is an interesting choice if you want to avoid purely touristic developments and prefer to experience a more 'real' Crete.
