Scilla nana (also known as Chionodoxa nana or cretica)
Scilla nana (formerly called Chionodoxa nana or Chionodoxa cretica) is a mountain plant growing from a bulb which flowers at snow melt time. It is often seen in company with Crocus sieberi (see middle photo) in the midst of berberis bushes. The small flowers can be pure blue, blue and white and sometimes very light blue. It is an endemic flower of the White Mountains.
Another very slightly different species, Scilla albascens grows in the other mountain ranges of Crete.
