Weather in Crete in June

June is the start of summer and the latter part of the month can be very hot. Rain is generally insignificant and the sea temperature climbs to 22°C which is very pleasant.

The vegetation is now quite dry at sea level but it is a great time to go to the hills and mountains to enjoy the late spring and the mountain flowers.

The table below lists weather averages in June for 7 towns of Crete.

Note that these weather stations are located near the sea, more or less at sea level and they generally get less rain than inland locations, especially higher up. Temperatures in hills and mountain areas can be considerably cooler.
