Pachnes actually consists of three summits. The westernmost summit is quite close to the gorge of Samaria (as the crow flies), giving you the impression that you are right over it. You can just about distinguish the guards hut and other buildings at Xyloskala (northern entrance of the Samaria gorge) in the right of the picture
