The gorge of Aradena runs from the foot of the White Mountains to the Libyan sea where it ends by the pretty beach of Marmara. You can enter it either from the bottom or by the abandoned village of Aradena. The access to the upper part of the gorge (beyond the village of Aradena) is difficult and never visited. The photo above is taken very near the beginning (sea end) of the gorge. Looking closely you can distinguish two hikers in the river bed. They give an idea of the scale of the picture. The gorge of Aradena should be absolutely avoided during or just after a rainfall
