Getting there: 40
km south from Rethymnon on a good but winding road. You can also get
to Plakias along the narrow coastal road from Hora Sfakion. There is
a regular bus service from Rethymnon.
Atmosphere: Plakias
is not the quiet place it was and can be busy at times.
Accommodation: A lot
to choose from in all categories.
Restaurants: Many restaurants.
Shopping: A few shops
covering basic needs.
Nightlife: Two discos
and many bars.
Beach: A
long
beach, partly pebbles and partly sand. Beware: Plakias is often
very windy and on those days you'll get sandblasted on the beach
