Stavros is not a real village but more a conglomeration of houses
built in the last two decades and more recently, small hotels and
apartments. |
Getting there: 14
km from Chania. A few public buses.
Atmosphere: A
quiet place lacking in atmosphere.
Accommodation: Nowadays
there is a fair bit of choice.
Restaurants: There
are only a couple of restaurants.
Shopping: Minimal
Nightlife: None
Beach: A
breathtakingly beautiful little bay (this is where the beach scenes
in the movie Alexis Zorbas were filmed) as well as a longer, almost
deserted sandy beach.
Additional comments: Stavros
is worth considering as a base but it is really best to have a
car.
