Holidays in Sougia

Sougia

Although Sougia has been popular for over two decades it has managed to remain a small quiet village.

Getting there:  75 km from Chania on a scenic winding road. One or two buses a day.

Atmosphere:   Sougia is an extremely relaxed and relaxing place.

Accommodation:   Plenty of good accommodation but it can get full up at times.

Restaurants:   Several good restaurants.

Shopping:   Minimal but it will cover basic needs.

Activities:   Some very good walks are possible in the area.

Nightlife:   A couple of bars and a discotheque (only in summer) on the outside of the village.

Beach:   A very long beach (long enough that it never feels crowded even in high season) which varies between coarse and very fine pebbles. About one third of the beach is clothing optional. One of the few beaches in West Crete still without sun beds and umbrellas.
