Holidays in Loutro

Loutro

Loutro is located in a small cove in beautiful settings. What made this tiny village so popular was the fact that it could not be reached by road and was therefore a haven of peace.

Getting there:   Only by boat (from Chora Sfakion and other villages on the South coast) and on foot.

Atmosphere:   Loutro is a peaceful place, favoured by people who want a quiet holiday. It can however feel a little cramped in the high season.

Accommodation:   Loutro consists almost entirely of hotels, rooms for rent as well as a few studios and apartments.

Restaurants:
Several good restaurants directly on the sea front.

Shopping:   A few shops will provide you with the essentials.

Nightlife:   Loutro goes to sleep pretty early apart from a couple of bars that stay open a little longer.

Beach:   A cramped pebble beach right in the middle of the village (which is why topless sunbathing is not allowed there). The sea is very clear. There are far better beaches within walking distance (one hour each way): Sweet Water beach to the East and Marmara to the West.
