Getting there: Limited
public transport so it is best to have your own car if you want to
move around. Almirida is located 25 km from Chania with buses 2 or
3 times a day only.
Atmosphere: Almirida is
still pretty laid back although tourism has become well developed.
Accommodation: New
hotels have been built in the past few years so there is plenty to
choose from.
Restaurants: A few
good restaurants.
Shopping: Basic. You
will find more in Kalives, 4 km away.
Nightlife: A couple
of bars.
Beach: A pleasant
sandy beach with shallow water. The beach is small and can easily
feel crowded.
