Cistus salvifolius is one of the commonest white flowers in Crete. It is widespread in woodland, garigue and phrygana up to 900 m and flowers from March to June. It can grow into a substantial size shrub, over 1 m tall and 2 m across. The white flowers are smaller than Cistus creticus.
