The cave of the bear - Gouverneto

The "bear", a large stalagmite

On the way down from the monastery of Gouverneto to the ruins of the monastery of Katholiko (on the peninsula of Akrotiri) you pass a cave with a large stalagmite in its centre which, with a little bit of imagination, resembles a bear. This has given the name Arkoudiótissa to the cave.
