The White Mountains seen from the summit of Psilafi
'Photo of the day' is a little late today because I went for a walk to Psilafi, the westernmost summit of the White Mountains. At 1980 m it is exactly the same height as its neighbour Gingilos and reasonably accessible from Xyloskala (although there is no path leading to it so don't go looking for one!).
In this picture I am standing on the summit of Psilafi looking at Strifomadi (that's the summit at the end of the ridge in the foreground, I think that its altitude is1930 m). Immediately behind are the summits of Gingilos and Volakies. To their right and much lower you see the summit of Katsaromoura (between the gorges of Tripiti and Klados). Beyond those mountains you can see the central summits of the White Mountains.
The road that you can distinguish in the left part of the photo is the track leading to Kallergi, Poria and a little beyond.
