Thunderstorm weather, Kalathas beach - Akrotiri

 

The weather is cold with thunderstorms sweeping through. Here a view from Kalathas beach on Akrotiri. If you wonder what the white buildings are in the left part of the picture, they are the tanks of a fuel terminal in Agios Onoufrios (just down the road from Kounoupidiana). Crete being an island all the petrol, diesel and heating fuel has to be brought by ship from the mainland and this is where it arrives for the region of Chania.
