In the southern part of the White Mountains  - 20th March 2008

You might have noticed that I missed my picture of the day yesterday. That's because I was in the White Mountains. There is still plenty of snow but because it is the product of only one heavy snow fall this winter (on the 18th of February) no layers of harder, older snow have formed so that now, with the current warm weather, the entire snow is getting very soft and you are breaking right in. This made for difficult and not very pleasant walking.
