Livaniana and Marmara from above

 

A view of the coast of South Crete when you descend towards the village of Livaniana. Just beyond the village (in the shadow of a passing cloud) you can make out the gorge of Aradena.. The rocky outcrop is Marmara. The dirt road winding its way down the mountain leads to the small coastal settlements of Lykos and Finix.
At sea the ferryboat Samaria is just passing on its way to Loutro and Hora Sfakion.
