Flowers in an olive grove

 

A carpet of flowers in an olive grove belonging to the monastery of Agia Triada. The flowers are white clover (Trifolium repens) and probably sown to fertilize the soil and as animal fodder (for sheep to graze in when spring growth becomes scarce).
