Evening light in the White Mountains
From this position walking along the shepherds road which
leads from Anopolis into the White Mountains I know exactly
which summit is which (as opposed to yesterday where
I was not certain of my exact position when I took the photo).
Here the central summit in the picture is called Pavlia, to its
right Askyfiotiko Soros and to its left Grias Soros (with an unusual
snow drift running all the way down its south side and spoiling
the perfect conical appearance).
On the far right what appears as a summit in the picture is
only a slight ascent at the northern end of the ridge of
Kakovoli.
On the far left the rounded 'summit' is part of the ridge of
Sternes (Mesa Soros is hidden just behind it).
If you are confused by it all, rest assured, you are not the
only one!
