Summit of Grias Soros in the White Mountains -
10th March 2007
Summit of Grias Soros in the White Mountains
Although it was a grey day in West Crete the clouds were
lower than the central White Mountains and the sun was shining
all day. Not much snow at all this year but still enough to
cover the slopes above 2000 meters.
This photo was taken on the way up to Pachnes, looking north-east.
The summit on the left is Grias Soros (2331m), the one on the
right is Mesa Soros (2333m). That's unless I am confused by
the perspective and the one on the right is Askyfiotiko Soros
(2210m) (and Mesa Soros is hidden by the descending slope of
the summit of Sternes). The three summits are almost perfect
cones so you cannot distinguish them by their features, only
by their position.
