The 13th century chapel of Agios Giorgos in the village of Anidri near Paleochora has a special place in my heart: I lived for a year in a house located right opposite the chapel in the mid seventies . Quite a few of my neighbours are now buried in its small cemetary.

The chapel has beautiful frescoes painted by Ioannis Pagomenos, one of the most famous fresco painters of Crete.
