I have known Elafonisos for 30 years and whilst I am not a regular visitor I have been there dozens of time. But this is the first time I could walk to the island. No water to cross, no knee deep (or thigh deep at times) wading. I didn't even have to take my shoes off.
So I guess that technically, right now Elafonisos is not an island anymore.
