So this is the time of the year (and especially now that
I have my macro lens) to take photos of flowers.
Eventually, a year or two down the road, I might use the photos
to create a picture database of Cretan flowers but for now
here is what I'd like to do: I love flowers but have no knowledge
of botanic and no time to acquire it (or better said: I've
got other things to do). So I will take photos, show them on
these pages and hopefully get some of my viewers to send me
the identification of said flower which I'll then dutifully
enter in the relevant page. At the moment, an average 200 people
a day look at this specific page so someone is bound to have
the answer.
And for the times where some flower is really hard to identify
(rare White Mountains endemic for example) I have someone very
knowledgeable I can ask (but I don't want to get on his nerves
every second day).
For those who want something else than flowers (I don't blame
you) have no fear, I'll still be showing all sorts of photos.
In fact, if it gets too 'flowery' what I might do is split
the 'Crete daily photo' into a flower and non-flower page.
