Flowers (or in this case a flowering tree) and snowy mountains
is what for me best symbolises spring in Crete. Of course in
this picture the perspective was considerably shortened by
using a telephoto lense. But even then you can easily combine
the two. Yesterday for example I got up early, drove up to
Omalos. By 9.00 I was walking on ice with crampons. By 10.00
I was viewing both sides of Crete from a summit. By 14.00 I
was back home on Akrotiri and could have been sitting on my
local beach if hadn't been so windy.
And by the way, I am off again to the mountains over the weekend
so no updates to this page until Monday. Have a nice weekend.
