That's where I went yesterday. Top picture is the beginning
of the path leading from Xyloskalo (entrance of the Samaria
gorge) to the summit of Gingilos.
I didn't go to Gingilos because
parts of that path are too exposed to walk on it safely in
deep snow without being roped up. I went to Psilafi instead
which is at the same altitude (1980m) but safer provided you
have the right equipment (crampons and stuff).
The second photo is taken from the ridge that leads to Psilafi,
opposite Gingilos. It shows very well how much snow is currently
sticking to the almost vertical face of the mountain. Unfortunately,
there are no more pics from further up because clouds came
in.
