I have known the village of Agia Galini (South
Crete) since 1976 and was never terribly keen
on it. Whilst it was always a pretty place with its white
houses built on a steep hill overlooking the sea I kept finding
it too cramped for my taste, even back in 76.
I passed by Agia Galini for the first time in well over 10
years. It's no less cramped, in fact it has grown a lot, but
is still pretty (especially with the sprinkling of snow on
Psiloritis in the background) and of course a quiet place in
winter.
