Pachnes and Psiloritis summits  - 3rd December 2006

So I did it! I went up to Pachnes all by myself Saturday....all alone on the mountain. Clear blue sky whilst all the lower parts of Crete were under the clouds. The mountain in the background is Psiloritis, high enough to pop out of the cloud cover.

After a really pleasant ascent with crampons on iced snow - very fast because of my Himalayan altitude acclimatization- I was up there .listening to the silence and feeling Crete again. A young golden eagle even flew by to see what I was doing.

So now I feel that I am back and the Daily Photo of Crete can start again until my next journey to Nepal.
