Prisoners of the White Mountains
This photo is not current (there is snow up there right
now) but was taken in October, just before I went away to Nepal.
I've just run out of good current stuff so I thought that this
was a nice "old one" to use.
I was coming back from a walk to Katsiveli with Christopher
Somerville (who wrote a nice
article about it in the Telegraph - even though he got
my name wrong. Christopher's French is correct but my name
still has no E at the end, go ask my ancestors why!) when we
met these rather pissed off sheep who had been cooped up within
a small circle of metal fencing.
In the printed article of the Telegraph the
caption to this picture reads "Ewes awaiting milking" but I
believe that they were awaiting a far more unpleasant fate.
